01Who we are

AXE is made and sold by Keyroom Studio, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). These terms are the agreement between you and us for the AXE software and this website (keyroomstudio.com).

By installing or using AXE, or by buying a licence, you accept these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use AXE.

AXE is an extension for Adobe Premiere Pro. It isn't made by, affiliated with or endorsed by Adobe.

02Buying through Paddle

Our order process is run by our online reseller, Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle takes the payment, adds sales tax or VAT where it applies, sends your receipt and invoice, and handles billing questions. Your card statement will show Paddle.

Paddle's buyer terms cover the payment itself. These terms cover AXE. Our refund policy has its own page.

03The plans

  • Free

    AXE Free

    Free forever, with some features limited. The app shows what's included.

  • Trial

    14 days of Pro

    Your first install gets 14 days of Pro. No card, no account. When it ends, AXE switches to Free by itself and nothing is charged.

  • Monthly

    Pro Monthly

    Billed every month until you cancel. Cancel any time. Pro keeps working until the end of the month you paid for.

  • Pay once

    Pro Lifetime

    One payment. Pro with no end date, and every future AXE update at no extra cost.

  • Both Pro plans unlock the same features.
  • When Pro ends (the trial is over, a Monthly plan is cancelled, or a payment is refunded), AXE switches to Free. Nothing you made is deleted: anything beyond Free's limits is paused, not removed.
  • Prices are shown on our website and at checkout. If the Monthly price ever changes, we'll email you before you pay the new price, so you can cancel first.
  • AXE runs on Windows 11 (64-bit) with Premiere Pro 26.3 or newer in English. Please use the trial to check it works for you before you buy.

04Your licence

  • A licence is for one person, on up to 2 PCs at a time.
  • New PC? Deactivate the old one in AXE's Licence tab, then activate the new one. Lost or broken PC? Email us and we'll free it for you.
  • Activating Pro needs the internet once. After that, AXE checks your licence now and then in the background, and Pro keeps working offline for up to 30 days between checks.
  • Use AXE for anything legal, including paid client work.
  • AXE is licensed to you, not sold. We keep ownership of the software, its code and design, and the AXE name.

05Your work stays yours

Your projects, footage, presets, sounds and saved edits belong to you, or to whoever licensed them to you. AXE works with your own files on your PC and doesn't upload them. More in our privacy policy.

Please only edit material you have the right to use. AXE doesn't host or publish anyone's content. If you think something on our website infringes your rights, email us and we'll take it down while we look into it. We may end the licence of anyone who keeps using AXE to infringe other people's rights.

06Fair use

Please don't:

  • use AXE or this website for anything illegal, for fraud or for spam;
  • share, sell, rent or publish your licence key, or AXE itself;
  • crack, patch or get around the licence check;
  • copy or reverse-engineer AXE, except where the law allows it;
  • attack or overload our website or servers, including malware, probing for weak spots or scraping;
  • use AXE to infringe anyone's copyright, trademarks or other rights.

07What we can't promise

We work hard to make AXE fast and reliable, but it's software. We can't promise it will be free of errors or never interrupted.

AXE depends on Premiere Pro and Windows. Adobe or Microsoft may change things that affect AXE. We'll try to keep up, but we can't guarantee that every future version will work with it.

Please keep backups of your projects. As far as the law allows, AXE is provided “as is”, with no promises beyond the ones in these terms. That's why the trial is the full Pro: try it on your own projects first.

08Limits of liability

As far as the law allows:

  • we aren't responsible for indirect losses, such as lost footage or work, missed deadlines or lost income;
  • our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us for AXE in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing here limits any responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

09Your part

If someone makes a claim against us because of how you used AXE, for example footage you didn't have the right to use, or a break of these terms, you agree to cover the costs that result, as far as the law allows.

10Ending a licence

You can stop using AXE at any time.

We may suspend or end a licence if it's used in serious or repeated breach of these terms, if a payment isn't made or is refunded or reversed, or to stop fraud or a security risk. Pro then stops and AXE switches to Free. In serious cases, such as cracking or reselling AXE, we may end your right to use AXE at all.

The parts about ownership, liability and the law still apply after a licence ends.

11Changes

We keep improving AXE, so updates may add, change or remove features.

We may update these terms too. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters for paying customers, we'll email them before it applies. Using AXE after a change means you accept the new terms.

12Small print

  • Things outside our control. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by things we can't reasonably control, such as outages at internet, hosting or payment providers, or natural disasters.
  • Passing it on. Your licence is personal. If you'd like to give it to someone else, email us first. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over AXE; your rights stay the same.
  • The whole agreement. These terms, our refund policy and our privacy policy are the whole agreement about AXE. If one part can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

13Law and disputes

If something goes wrong, please email us first. Most problems are solved quickly that way.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India decide any dispute. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protections of the laws where you live.
